I am addicted to erasers. I have a tub in my class that I can’t close the lid because it is overflowing with these cute little things. I buy them for every season and find every little reason possible to use them, except for their intended purpose…erasing! You can read about eraser math stories here.
This week, I pulled out these ten frame trays I bought at Oriental Trading this summer. You never know what the quality will be with Oriental Trading, but these are great!
We used the erasers and math trays to help solve some make a ten addition sentences and the kids loved it!
This is my grade level partner Susan from Friendly Froggies with Landon Fish (get it fish On-Land).
We took our first graders to the Coleman Fish Hatchery this past week. It was so much fun!
Our students loved to see how large the salmon were. We even got to watch the egg harvesting.
I’m starting the Halloween fun early in my class. It’s such a fun group, that I thought I would pull out the “educational tools” early, so out came the witchy pointy fingers! It’s so much more fun to read with them.
We attack the learning of sight words in many different ways. This week, I introduced the roll, read and cover. I even let them use twistable crayons! It’s amazing how fancy crayons can change everything.
I pulled out the Halloween Literacy Centers for word work last week and the kids loved them. Here are some of the activities we had.
