We’ve been working on sorting according to the th sound in the beginning of the word or at the end of the word. First we practiced as a class using a pocket chart.
After some practice as a class, I added a th tub in my word work area. My students love practicing with paint sticks. You can read more about how I use paint sticks here. Once they sort with the paint sticks, they completed a practice page.
I also like to use the H brothers poem that is all over Pinterest. If you don’t know it, just search H brothers poem. There is also this anchor chart all over Pinterest, but I can’t find the direct source.
I love this, but let’s be honest. It’s Halloween week, a full moon, the 50th Day of school and prepping for parent conferences. I don’t have time to make a cute anchor chart this week!
Maybe next week?
You can find the digraph pack here. There are sound sorts, sound posters and no prep printables.
