It’s time for one of my favorite units of the year…rainforests! I absolutely love teaching about the rainforest. It’s so engaging for students. Even though we can’t visit a tropical rainforest where we live, they connect to what we learn about and can transfer the big ideas to our local ecosystems.
I love to incorporate nonfiction into my classroom. The week we will be learning all about recycling, reducing, reusing, and rot (worms) in honor of Earth Day. We have a week full of activities planned. Here are the components of the Earth Day nonfiction part of my week.
Earth Day is just around the corner. I believe this is one of the most important things we need to teach our students about…stewardship for the Earth.
