Earth Day is just around the corner. I believe this is one of the most important things we need to teach our students about…stewardship for the Earth. I teach and reinforce recycling all year, but it is always nice to give it a little extra attention this month. Here are some resources that you may find helpful in your classroom.
I have a lot of books on recycling, but these are some of my favorite!
- The Lorax
- Michael Recycle
- The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle
- Why Should I Recycle?
- The Earth Book
- Earth Day: An Alphabet Book
- I Can Save the Earth!
- Where Does the Garbage Go?
- The Wartville Wizard
- The Three R’s: Reuse ,Reduce, Recycle!
We also do a lot of writing this time of year, so this word list always comes in handy.
We will also add to our interactive notebooks. You can read more about our recycling pages here.
I’ve always thought these cupcakes were adorable. I have never made them, but I think it would be a fun Earth Day treat!
I made this freebie a few years ago that my kids like to do. If you haven’t grabbed it yet, click below.
I have a Pinterest board of Earth Day Resources that has a growing group of fun and engaging activities, if you need some more inspiration!
