Word work is such an important part of my day. During my reading block, I have my students go to a word work station. This is a time for them to practice sounds we are working on, or their sight words.
I have six tubs filled with activities for my students to choose from. The tubs I use are from Ikea. Some of the tubs have phonics activities that coordinate to the sound we are working on, or a review of sounds. The other tubs have activities that can be used with their sight words they are practicing. My students have an individualized list of words they practice. You can read more about them here.
I like to have activities that can be tailored to what each child is working on. These Word Work It activities are fun and engaging for my students. They write in their words that they are learning, and practice away!
Of course we practice how to use these resources before I let them on their own, but my students love that they have a choice of activities. These activities can all be found in the Word Work It pack, which can be found on TPT or The Teacher Bag.
