Candy Cane Poll

I love candy canes, but I realize that not everyone is like me (gasp!).  I can not even imagine the holiday season without at least one candy cane.  I thought it would be fun to have my students take a poll to find out which students liked or did not like candy canes.

I have 20 students in my class, so I put them into two groups.  We have been practicing making 10, so this was a great way to practice this concept.  In their group, they had to ask each other if they liked or disliked candy canes.  They made a graph with their results and completed the page.

The hardest part was putting their results into words.  Many students just want to do math, but it is so important for them to explain their results.
