A Lucky Girl

Hey everyone! I’m Molly from Lucky to Be in First! I’m thrilled to hangout here on Renee’s blog for the day! I’ve taught 1st grade in the Bay Area for 12 years and I can’t imagine teaching any other grade!

I love that these little first graders come to you so needy but over time, they start to figure it out on their own! It’s so exciting to know that I am a HUGE part of that independence! However, the biggest challenge in 1st grade is that kids are all over the place in work speed, right? Some kids take 3 minutes to finish something…while the talker across the room takes 33 minutes!

So as they say, necessity is the mother of invention.  I created the B.A.T. Book series to keep those early finishers working!

B.A.T. stands for Brain’s Always Thinking! Using this book, your students can complete a variety of fun & appealing activities as they finish their work or can sneak in a few minutes of Free Time!

Here’s a peek at what’s included in the 1st grade editing

To get these books ready, you just choose a cover and photocopy the pages. Each book is filled with common core activities {and the kids don’t even realize they’re learning!}
Simple directions for each activity make it easy for students to complete on their own. Kids can track their progress in their B.A.T. Book with the Progress Page in the front of their books.

This year, I also started making monthly B.A.T. Books so I could add some fun themes {which are more motivating for many kids!}Slide2
