Simplify…that’s my word for the year. Each year I choose a word to inspire me. I have chosen this word before, but I have always enjoyed it. I usually don’t pick the same word again, but a Christmas present from my son has led me back to it simplify again.
A little back story, my son came home from school one day and went straight to work wrapping gifts he had made at school for me and my husband. Those are always my favorite. He was very proud of himself, but mentioned he wished he could buy something for us with his money. He is nine and I thought it would be a great experience for him to shop for us. We gave him a budget because we really didn’t want him to spend his money on us. He went shopping with his aunt and was so proud of himself. He bragged how he found some items for buy one get one free and how he only went over his budget by $2. This is what he found for me…
I loved it! It was a sign that I needed to choose simplify again.
I have some big goals in the next year and focusing on this word may help me achieve what I want to achieve. So here’s to a new year! #onelittleword2017
